De Vrij: Inter Milan players were determined to win Supercoppa

Stefan De Vrij admits Inter Milan's players are proud winning the Supercoppa Italiana.

Inter won 1-0 against Napoli in the Riyadh final.

De Vrij said at his post-match media conference: "We said to ourselves how important a trophy it was, we now have a lot of experience playing these matches and there is more and more desire to win games like this.

"Many reasons (why it was difficult), they also prepared for the match. There were less spaces on the other side, we also had a less rest day and were less precise. But we did well to win."

On what captain Lautaro Martinez means to the team, De Vrij said of the matchwinner: "A lot.

"I arrived with him, it's wonderful to see his growth, on and off the pitch. He's grown a lot as a leader, as a captain and as a boy he's extraordinary."
