Broncos Among NFL Teams at Caleb Williams' Pro Day
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are continuing to meticulously move through their scouting process ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, and it's seemingly stopping at nobody, no matter how highly they may be viewed within this class.

Despite Caleb Williams having all the signs of being this offseason's first-overall pick, the Mile High still has some eyes on him.

As of Williams' recent pro day this week, the Broncos were seen with team scout Sae Woon Jo in attendance in a video posted on the NFL's Twitter/X account, noted by Yahoo! Sports. Jo is standing in a blue shirt at the beginning of the clip:

It would be a long shot to expect the projected number-one overall pick to land in Denver, considering the circumstances, but the Broncos are, at the very least, keeping all of their options available. The team holds the 12th-overall selection during this year's draft, and while current projections have them linked to investigating a quarterback, they likely don't have any opportunity to get their chance on the USC signal caller.

As of the Chicago Bears ' recent deal of Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, there's no reason not to believe quarterback isn't the direction to go for them as well, and about every mock has Williams being the man for the job. Therefore, if the Broncos want to try their hand at a rookie quarterback, it will have to happen a bit further down the board.

Without their second-round pick this season, it's difficult to picture a trade-up into the top ten selections. Still, if the right guy falls to Denver for Sean Payton to confidently build this offense around, it'll be hard to see any other position being the choice here.

Maybe it's J.J. McCarthy, maybe it's Bo Nix, and in some cases, it might even be Jarrett Stidham for another season. Regardless, the Broncos will have a critical decision on their hands to make for the season ahead as the draft inches closer by the day.
